The Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus
County is a youth development
organization that has grown from
one club with 99 members in 1992
to serving thousands of children
through out Citrus County. Under
the organizational umbrella of
the Boys & Girls Clubs of
America, the clubs offer young
people what they need and want
most: adults who respect and
listen to them, a safe
environment where they can have
fun and be themselves, and
interesting, constructive
activities that channel youthful
energy into constructive
pursuits. Boys and Girls Club
programs are nationally
recognized and address critical
issues affecting today’s youth
and provide them with the
knowledge, skills, and
attributes they need to pursue
their dreams and succeed in
life. |

| The Club delivers programs dedicated
to the health, social, educational,
vocational, character development and
guidance of youth, 6-18 years of age. |

special emphasis on realizing The Boys &
Girls Clubs of Citrus County
organization’s goals for its members: 1)
promoting academic success, 2)
instilling good character and
leadership, and 3) teaching the
principles of a healthy lifestyle. |

Clubs go to the Movies at Regal Cinema at the Mall

The Evelyn Waters Boys & Girls Club and the Central Ridge Boys & Girls Club have received grants from Regal Entertainment Groups Cinema Movie Theaters to attend special showings of children’s movies in the Crystal River Mall. The total $4000 grant pays for transportation to and from the theater, entrance to the movie and refreshments during the film. Club Members see such movies as “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “Shrek Forever After,” and “Despicable Me.” They especially enjoy the Kids’ pack enjoy the Kids’ Pack of refreshments consisting of popcorn, a soda, and a fruit treat. The special movie schedule runs from June 7th through August 3rd. Transportation is supplied through rented school system buses. The movies bring a lot of enjoyment to Boys & Girls Club summer campers.
