A non-profit nonpartisan research institute conducted a comprehensive study of the economic impact of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
The study showed that :
- Boy & Girls Club members have lower high school dropout rates than non-members.
Boy & Girls Club members have greater overall achievement levels in reading & math (according to FCAT scores)
Boy & Girls Club members have lower rates of absenteeism
Boy & Girls Club members have lower rates of criminal offenses
Gang activity, possession or use of weapons, alcohol, or drugs are significantly less (less than 1%) for Boys & Girls Club members.
Teen pregnancy was reported at zero for Boys & Girls Club members as compared to the state of Florida teen pregnancy rate of 41.9 %.
The most frequent time of day for juvenile delinquency peaks between 3 and 6 P.M.
