The Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County provide youth with a positive place to go while parents or guardians work or seek employment knowing their children are involved in proven programs that foster a sense of belonging, competence, and usefulness and influences that build confidence and self-esteem. We provide safe-havens for members and peace of mind for parents. The Clubs are affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.
Healthy lifestyles are promoted in members through SMART Start (ages 5 to 9), Stay SMART (ages 10 to 13), and Triple Play programs. SMART Start and Stay SMART are taught though age appropriate sessions promoting abstinence from substance abuse and adolescent sexual involvement through the practice of responsible behavior. Triple Play promotes nutritional education, physical activity and character building. All members have the opportunity to be involved in community service projects.
Neighborhood Based Sites
The Evelyn Waters Boys & Girls Club is located in Inverness, the Central Ridge Boys & Girls Club is located in Beverly Hills, and the Robert Halleen Boys & Girls Club is located equidistant between Homosassa and Crystal River.
